I bought something at the auction at work last week and I want you to try to guess what it is...........
Here are some clues:
- It is ugly
- It is white
- It is made of plastic and metal
- People often have them in their bedroom, their sitting room, their garage or their loft
- Ours is in our sitting room
- It is very heavy
- It cost the grand sum of £2.42 (but that is a real red herring)
- People often use it to hang clothes on - but that's not what it is for
- I'm going to try to hide mine under a quilt - there, it looks much better
So what is it?

Uh oh, it's not an exercise bike is it? I kind of half want one, half laugh at myself for wanting one.
I was going to say a trouser press but then I saw Ali's comment and think she is probably right... an exercise bike?
I was going to say one of those horrible dressing tables from the 60s or 70s but I'm with Ali on the exercise bike.
I will go with the above as I know you are missing running and a bike to ride inside is the next best thing I suppose.
I started off thinking it might be an oil filled radiator - but looking at the photo I think that Ali might be right!
As soon as you mentioned hanging clothes on it, I thought of exercise equipment, LOL! If so, you certainly got it at a reasonable price, and can enjoy trying out a new form of exercise instead of feeling guilty if you don't like to use it after all. But maybe you will!
Oh yes, I keep the ironing on mine!!
Oh it must be an exercise bike...or maybe a cross trainer? Ebay by any chance? I hung clothes on mine for months before finally banishing it to the shed!
