Maybe some pictures???

Hi, I'm still here but my camera is not so lucky! It's had to be sent away for repair and might not be back for 8 weeks! Before I knew about blogland this would have been okay-ish but now it is a disaster. I managed to copy the photos on my card onto CD so I have a couple there and I have borrowed mum and dad's old camera but it is a bit unpredictable so the photos may not be great!

I'm not really sure what to blog about though! I think I will show you the pond we have been digging at the allotment as long as you won't complain about photos of black plastic pond liner!
(lots of people digging quite a small hole!)

Black plastic pond liner as promised

Ok, yes, that's me with my little monsters, trying to hide behind my hair and wearing my very unattractive "allotment coat" - well it's very cozy and it was raining by then!

Finally an introduction to the new members of our family:
"Mia the Funky Chick" and "TimTom"
(hopefully I will get a better picture next time!)

The children were looking over my shoulder as I visited MondaLoves fab blog and asked if we could make some monsters too. I got them to draw how they wanted their monsters to look and then helped them put them together. I did the machining but the children did all the handsewing. Dorothy's isn't finished yet because she was busy cooking garlic bread, soup and cakes in the kitchen with LSH while we were sewing (YUM!). Likewise, I was too busy helping Fred and Daisy to finish mine and LSH designed a very strange "Mr Turnip Head" monster that I am hesitant about sewing - it's freaky! (More about them in another post!)

I think it's really important to let the kids create, and dabble in our supplies, stash, whatever. My dd#2 has been visiting this week and has made 3 fabric postcards. This is a kid that has sewn once in 7th grade.

I think the monsters are adorable!

About time too. I've been waiting for a new update. By the way Mum & Dad's camera worked well at the weekend - you just have a habit of breaking them! Only kidding, it is very old in Digital camera terms and not very many pixels.

Well must dash loads to do without any kids around!!

Hope Dorothy has good sleepover with mine at Granny and Grandpa's

Oh Lucy - I got see some allotments from the train as we traveled through the UK. I saw one and thought - I bet that is what Lucy is talking about. Lots of folks out working their patches. We have them here too but they call them Pea Patches and mostly it is folks who live in the city and don't have room to garden at home. After seeing the prices of vegetables in the stores, I can see the value of the allotment. Are they readily available to all who want one?

LOL. Isn't it funny how attached we've become to our cameras? My hubby announced he'd be taking my camera on a trip with him this week -- I nearly fainted. As it turns out, he called this morning on his way, and he forgot it. I'm very sad for him, but lucky me! And a POND? Oh. Very Big Sigh. It will be perfect there now! And aren't you all SO cute! What a darling family -- even the monsters! ;-)

Why thank you Lucy Locket, it's good to be back, causing monkee madness!! My how I missed my laptop - much the same as you're missing your camera probably.

I love your take on the monda monsters, they're such cuties. Also you're so good at letting your own monsters do crafty things. I always end up snatching things off mine and saying "Oh let me do it!!" Control freak? Definitely.

I found the monsters! - they are fab! I guess being crafty must run in the family then.
Should have read the rest of the blog before I wrote my first comment - nevermind.
