Crochet Hook Rolls and Wrist Warmers

Now I told you all how much I love my new knitting needles and this is what they have been making lately:

first some wristwarmers for Mr Locket's birthday inspired by this tutorial

then some for Miss Dotty Locket to match the scarf she is knitting for herself

and then some more for Daisy Locket only these weren't half as much fun to do because they were on squitty thin metal dpns instead of my lovely bamboo ones - they look good though and the wool was really cheap for self-patterning.

No two are identical in length, stitch number or thumb size because I was sort of making it up as I went along (and not really following the very good tutorial) but on the whole I'm very pleased with them!

The other thing I've been making lately is crochet hook rolls inspired by this fab tutorial.

The first was for Charlie P

The second for Thimbleanna

And the third was for Lesley

(Actually the fourth was for Lesley and the third, almost identical one is mine - only mine has all the faults and hers is better!)

They are lovely to make and very, very useful so now I need to make myself a slightly larger one to house all my lovely new bamboo dpns - not just my set from Loop but all these too!!!!

But I will leave you today with the needle case I made for Ally using one of Lynette Anderson's brilliant free block of the month stitcheries.

So a post full of creations and tutorials.

By the way have any of you noticed the fab new item on the side of my blog - my wistlist? It's a really brilliant way to store all your favourite crafty tutorials - there are so many there that I want to make so why do I have to go to work when I have all this sewing and knitting to do? It's so unfair!

Fabulous wristwarmers! I've been making wristwarmers but the first pair were a bit baggy and I haven't finished the second pair yet! I think I might like to make myself a crochet hook roll though... far more swish than my coleman's mustard tin where they currently reside.

Crikey Mrs L-P, how on earth do you find the time to see to the new dog AND make all those lovely things? Mention of dpns makes me hyperventilate - did you do a training course or something? It all looks so complicated.

Love the wrist warmers, I wear mine during the day when I'm at home on my own and too stingy to put the heating on!
How inconvenient of work not to let you take your knitting/sewing projects in!

Goodness me, you have been busy! I do love your wistlist, actually, and may have to set one up myself -as if I don't have enough to do this evening!

I was waiting to see Fred's little writs warmers . . . what's keeping you?! I like those tutes sliding along at the side. I might do that too to remind myself of all the lovely things I'd like to make - during the holidays. Dogs do get in the way awfully!! Think of pay day!

Fabby crochet hook rolls too - I really love mine :-)

How come you've managed to knit all those wrist warmers since we met in London? I'm nowhere near done with the sock I showed you...

Love your wistlist - those felted jumper Christmas trees are fantastic. I'm going to make loads of them with the jumper scraps - once I've made a few blankets with them. Aha. Maybe Christmas presents for next year. I am determined to get it sorted early next year (have all the presents made by February?!!!!)

Such an optimist!

My question is, why doesn't the whole world just stop and wait for us when we're busy crafting? In a perfect world perhaps...

Ooh, those wristwarmers look so cozy! I really want to make some (my hands also get very cold when the heating isn't on) but have socks on the go at the moment. Must knit faster!! And your crochet hook rolls look fab too - lovely fabric choices.

Awww! I LOVE the stitchery on the needle case. Very sweet. My beautiful Lucy Locket crochet hook role has been fabulous- no hooks have disappeared down the back of the sofa or been lost between home and Bristol (or between my room and the living room) :)

Hello there

Thanks for the trip to ring a rosie this morning - fab.

You wanted a good hat pattern, try this one http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/turn-a-square#

I haven't made it yet, but it's had some good reviews. It's the one I bought wool for today to make for Stu. (and of course I now can't print it off cos I have no printer ink - doh!)

(howbarf as word verif? Love it!)
