Strimming with the Red Arrows

To give you all a break from me gloating about my lovely pink sewing room I thought I'd share some allotment pictures with you instead - although I'll probably be back with more pink room news soon (sorry!)

The alternating hot and wet weather we have been having lately means that the allotment has gone into overdrive - the crops and flowers are growing really well but unfortunately so are the weeds.

So we did a trade with Granny and Grandpa Dog and let them borrow the three Little Lockets while we borrowed their strimmer and yesterday morning Mr Locket and I went up and quickly attacked the allotment.

The experience was made more interesting (including the 2 mile journey there that took over 40 minutes) because it was the first day of the Sunderland International Airshow.

Our strimming was accompanied by the Red Arrows!!!!

(they were noisier!)

Hello, I know what you mean about the weeds, our allotment has been the same. We don't have a strimmer though unfortunately. The red arrows looked fun!

Strimmer is a new word for me. Perhaps it's what we call a weed eater around here? Love those air show pictures. Somehow I always feel the need to duck when they get close, but they're amazing to watch.

Strimmer? Whipper Snipper? lol! Isn't it funny that I have no idea what you're talking about!!! I'll assume that's what it is!! Garden is flourishing!! I'm missing the pink room though.... ;) Dreaming of my own room some day.....! What a great view from your allotment!! 40 minutes to go 2 miles??? Wow! I never ever have traffic problems!!! ;)

Wow. Allotment is looking great. LOL about the Red Arrows - is it that unusual for you to weed that you get a flyby to commemorate? ;P

Your lottie is looking very good indeed! We invested in a petrol strimmer and it makes a HUGE difference - our plot actually looks like an allotment instead of just aweed patch! More new potatoes for tea tonight, yum.

I am so jealous - your sweet peas are gorgeous. We had a couple of bunches from ours then they just started dying. The few flowers we got had stems that were barely an inch long. And as to the Red Arrows doing a fly past in honour of you doing the strimming - that is mighty impressive stuff there Mrs Locket.

I go away for 2 weeks and come back to find you have a CRAFT ROOM!!!!!?!?! It looks GORGEOUS! Having your own special creative space makes all the difference, I can't wait to see it all finished and filled.
The allotment's looking great too. Unfortunately I missed the red arrows as I was stuck at work, but the parents informed me that they were AMAZING!

p.s. thanks again for the Amy Bulter tip-off- the ticket arrived today!! So excited!
