Casting off..............casting on..............

Last Saturday really was quite an amazing day.............

...........because not only did I finish Mr Locket's Gorgeous DK socks............

.........but I also finished my Monkeys that have been hanging around on the needles for ages!

Three pairs of socks finished in one day.

Yup three PAIRS of MATCHING socks.

In the Locket household!

Matching socks.

Now there's a rare thing indeed!

So to balance things out I clearly needed to cast on three more pairs of socks.........

......especially as the lovely Quinn had sent me the most unexpected parcel of goodies including this gorgeous hand-dyed sock wool

I didn't get chance to photograph it in the skein because I leapt so quickly at Dottie's suggestion that she help me wind it.  I wasn't going to turn down an offer like that in a hurry.

So I cast on a pair of No Purl Monkeys in some Regia Sock Monster wool that I bought at Barbara's the other week (this is the wool that I liked but didn't LOVE as much as the gorgeous dk wool I simply HAD to buy)

Then I cast on a Summer Lovin sock with Quinn's gorgeous wool............

and I actually knitted two repeats of the pattern until today.......

............when I decided that it really was too loose and baggy and didn't do the gorgeous wool justice.

So, very rarely for me, I frogged it and have been busily searching Ravelry for a new pattern to show off this lovely wool - any suggestions would be very gratefully received.

I've also cast on another pair of mindless-telly-watching-dk-socks - but I haven't photographed them yet.

So I must go, there's knitting to be done...........

You must have a gazillion needles Lucy. Do you wear shoes when you wear these lovely socks??? I'd just want to prance around in them and them alone

Heavens above Locket - when you do socks you really do socks!

I'll do what I can to help you find the pattern for that lovely green yarn, even though I think your first attempt is really rather gorgeous. How about the same pattern but smaller needles?

Goodness gracious! The Locket Sock Drawers got a big boost, didn't they?! Maybe your phenomenal productivity will inspire me to figure out exactly where I was on the socks I put aside, um, some time ago. They were my second pair of no-purl monkeys, I think...and I went astray somewhere on the second sock and didn't have the pattern with me, I think...and they've been sleeping in their little baggie since...oh my gosh, JUNE, I think!!

The greeny yarn looks very nice in that lovely pattern but I share your feelings about baggy socks. Happy pattern-searching! :)

Holy Cow Woman -- you're a sock-knitting machine! They're all so beautiful. You must have a fortune in knitting needles too -- most excellent!

If you run out of feet in your house to wear all these lovely socks I'd happily volunteer my feet to wear some for you!
I knit socks on 2mm needles which stops and baggy tendancies.

Oh my goodness, you've put me to shame. I have a half finished pair (cast on with wool I bought last time we met at Loop!!!!) and I'm not sure I can even remember which pattern I was using ...

Wow, you're all go.
I finished two pairs of socks, thanks to your inspiration!!
A pair of size 0 - 6 months and a pair of newborn which I turned into keyring fobs.
That green hand dyed yarn is beautiful.

Beautiful green yarn - now you won't just have green fingers, you'll have green toes too - just in time for spring! Hurry up and find that pattern lol.

Beautiful socks!

I think that gorgeous green yarn would look amazing as Rivendell socks - http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/rivendell-sock.

Wish the finishitis were contagious and I'd get my three half finished ones done and in the sock drawer.

Nicely done, Lucy!! I LOVE the green sock pattern, though it looks too difficult for my skill level - (so far). I liked the comment about using baby socks for key fobs - neat idea.

Can't believe the rate you are churning these out... and matching pairs too. That green yarn is gorgeous and I like the pattern you started.

Gosh, you clever thing. All those socks! I really should try knitting some one day - Michaela even found me some patterns which used just two needles, which I have bookmarked. Instead, I sit here drooling at gorgeous sockage being made all over blogland.

Hope you're feeling ok, Lucy :) x

Flipping Heck! What incredible sockage you have there. I am so impressed at the speed you're knitting these socks and I LOVE tthe no-purl monkeys, another one for the queue! As to another pattern, have you tried Hermione's everyday socks? Easy peasy and lovely pattern.
