Look out London, Watch out World

WARNING, WARNING, WARNING!!!!!

(image borrowed from here *)

Clear the streets!

Lock your doors!

Hide!!!!!

coz I'm coming down to London again!

My "sewing night" friends and I are planning a trip down to the Country Living Christmas Fair on Friday 14th November and have actually been given 1st class train tickets too!

So if anyone fancies a bloggy meet up over a coffee just let me know!

Alternatively, you now know which day NOT TO GO to the CL fair!!!

I'm so excited!!!!

I am also rather nervous because I did something quite incredible today.................

I actually applied for a proper job for the first time since I had the children - so watch out world!

Unfortunately my CV was completely out of date - in fact I couldn't find one on the computer at all so had total panic stations while I searched through the deeply stratified archives (thank heavens for an archaeologist for a husband) for any previous job information. Maybe it's just me, but there is no way I would have been able to pluck qualification dates and details and former job details out of my memory!

Fortunately I found half a CV from 12 years ago and with the help of a humungous pile of old time-slips, pay-slips, P60s etc was able to cobble together a semi-decent application form (I think)

so please keep your fingers and toes crossed for me! It's "just" a part-time secretarial post - but it's one I think I would really enjoy and it's about time I started earning my keep!!!

*(no offence meant to any of my lovely bloggy pals who have had to cope with this kind of weather in real life)

I'm not afraid of freakish winds - good job really considering the company I'll be keeping on 14th November!!!

Not wishing to sound patronising or overly maternal, I am sooooo proud of you applying for YOUR job. I'll be keeping everything crossed for you :)

Off you go and have a fun sewing night then and stop keeping me from my mahoosive pile of ironing!!

You did the application thing? Yay you!

Wonderwoman where is your sense of adventure? They promised me a spot right on the middle of the top of the train!

Oh wow - you're doing proper grown up stuff like applying for a job? :-O Well done you! I have fingers, toes, arms, legs and eyes all crossed - it's uncomfortable, hard to type, and I look ridiculous ... but if it lands you the job, then 'YAY!'

Good luck on your job application - if you get it, I hope it won't make a difference to your blogging.
I've always wanted to go to the Country Living Fair but London scares me stupid, so I just have to listen to other people's stories of their visits.
By the way, nothing is only 'just'. Everything you do in life is important. That's what I try and remember every day anyway because otherwise, what's the point?

Good luck on the job!! And enjoy the
anticipatory pleasure of going to London!

(My husband was in London last week and was stunned that it’s become even more expensive than a few months ago!)

Bother. Can't go. Can't get the time off work but I will no doubt have spent up at Ally Pally anyway!

Fingers and everything crossed for the job. Really hope you get it. And if you don't, they're fools, you are so obviously the very best person for the job.

Apryl said...

fingers crossed for you to get the job.. I haven't worked for 6 years... but with the hose move I think I will be busy enough for the foreseeable future before I think about going back to the work force.

I hope you have a lovely time in London in November... Its a bit far for me to go as M is super busy at work then.

Perhaps a coffee another time if you ever come Derby or Nottingham way. I'll even provide cake!
