But the most important part of today's post is the words (honest!!!)
Because I am planning a bloggy meet up in the Easter Holidays!!!!
Here's the plan:
On Wednesday 8th April I propose that we meet at Millet's Farm near Abingdon in Oxfordshire with our children for a picnic and lots of chat and laughter and fun. If everyone brings their own picnics then we will know that the children will have things they like to eat.
If the weather turns bad then I'm sure we could move inside.
Because there is a bloggy tradition of exchanging handmade gifts but there might be an awful lot of us, I was thinking that we could do a Secret Santa idea (but maybe it should be a Secret Easter Bunny) where everyone brings a wrapped handmade gift (although it doesn't need to be a bunny!) and then we all do a lucky dip.
And because I don't want the children to be left out I thought we could all bring an Easter egg (just the fairly cheap 3 for £5 type) per child that comes with us and again these could be lucky-dip-ped (unless there are any food allergies of course)

So, what do you think?
Can you come?
I really hope so!!!!
We can sort out what time to meet nearer the date.
And I hope you don't think that I've just randomly plucked somewhere to meet out of thin air - I have been canvassing opinion over a good central location and this seems to be a good one with plenty to entertain the children - although Gina has promised to entertain them all for us ;o)
Now for those pictures:

Now for those pictures:
- the gorgeously generous Katy very kindly sent me some of her newly purchased fabric from America because I was literally drooling over it!!
- I have started yet another sock - this time a nice small one for Fred. I bought the wool at Ring-a-Rosie on Monday and also had to buy some 2.5 mm bamboo dpns so when I got back to the car I sat there for over 45 minutes casting on and doing the rib because I couldn't wait til I got home!
- Some new Tilda fabric from The Fat Quarters (Tuesday's treat)
- More gorgeous sock wool from Ring-a-Rosie because I simply HAD to have it - and fabulous matching buttons too! So what can I make with it? It's too gorgeous to go on my feet!
P.S. I will be updating the allotment blog later today too.

Lovely purchases/gifts you have there. What a blog geek I am ... I saw the top picture and thought 'that looks like the stuff that Katy had!'
I'm so pleased you said the secret santa/bunny for any meet up didn't have to be a bunny, as I expect some stupid person might think you literally meant a bunny. DOH ;-)
I am 'in' for the bloggy meet up at Millets Farm - and will bring my smalls too! Exciting! x
Well, you know I'll be along too if I can - Kitty aswell - more real imaginary people!
Not only that but delicious fabric, woolliness and buttons!
Ace!
xxxx
LUCY!!! You're KILLING me here! I WANNA come to the bloggy meet. It's SOOOOO unfair!!!
So, I've been giving this bloggy meet stuff a lot of thought since Lesley talked about taking a trip with a friend. I've decided all of you UK bloggers need to come to the US and I'll pick you up at the airport ('cause we wouldn't want you driving on the RIGHT side of the road LOL) and we could have a fab quilt shop hop. I'm thinking Utah has the best shops. So, maybe after all your budgets have recovered from raising children....
In the meantime, I'm contemplating what I WOULD put in my picnic lunch!
Hi, if I can arrange my holiday, I could come too as I live near Millets! x
Sadly the meet up will be too far for me and my children, mainly as I'll be 8 1/2 months pregnant by then!
What great eye candy - that house fabric is amazing. I have just used some sock wool to knit a little jumper and somewhere I have a pattern for an adult cardi too. The self patterning yarn works it's magic and looks fab.
As thimbleanna said, sooo unfair!! I really want to come too but we only have the one car and hubby uses it for work (too inconsiderate!). Guess I'll just have to wait for the country living xmas fair instead ;)
Oh yes, lovely yarn and fabrics too!
Ooh, Ooh, can I come please ? I'm only down the A34 and Millets farm used to be a real haunt of mine when I lived in Abingdon.
It's easter hols so will definitely come along if I can.
I thought the same as Kitty i.e. fabric looked like Katies.
I so wish I could knit x
Doing my darndest to wrangle it. Could there BE a more convenient location for me?
EEeekk !! I thik that I will email you about this one.
Love the goodies by the way.
Sarah x
I would love to come to a bloggy meet up, but C is away at the grandparents that week and I don't drive so it's just too far away for me -sorry Boo Hoo!!
Maybe next time she says hopefully
April xx
what lovely goodies - gorgeous fabric! will be coming to meet if not working!
am off to look at allotment blogging!
xx
Would love to meet bloggers in person but I will be holding fence posts while my hubby whacks them with a sledge hammer! Guess where I would rather be. May be another time. Perhaps regional meet ups? I live in Cornwall which seems to be along way from everywhere except Devon!
Have fun.
I'd love to come but the 17,000kms is getting in the way.....
Oh would love to come to the bloggy meet but its a bit far (hehe) mind you its something to think about when I come over in 2010(ish)......... I like the teal too..I think the green matches too well & might just blend in the teal will make it zing......gotta love a bit of zing......
Hope you get some lovely weather for your Easter meet up. I think I'm supposed to helping to build a chicken run......
Love those buttons!
What a great idea Lucy - I'd love to come. Can't wait for the holidays already.
Oooh so unfair! I want to come - I will be over in May - can't quite make it in April though.
We'll be there! It'll be fab to see everyone!!
I love that pastelly coloured sock wool. I'd have to make socks with it but the buttons might be a bit uncomfortable. Mmm - maybe some wrist warmers with buttony detail. Or a little knitted pouch....with buttons on!
xxx
Well it looks like I'm already there, but wait a minute... Dottycookie said she was only joking about me entertaining all the children!!! Actually I can't wait to come and meet you all.
Oh, can I come, a bloggy meet-up sounds like a fab idea. I'll have to see if I can persuade my "smalls" that a day to a farm will be a good idea - will anyone else be bringing teenagers?
(And yes, I recognised the material as well.)
Drats!!..would love to join you on your Easter picnic but i live way-way too far away in a-land-downunder :( have a FAB time!! Love, love, love the teal btw :)
Gosh, your meet-up sounds so lovely, I wish I didn't live so far away. I will look forward to reading about it.
Is the UK anywhere close to Minnesota, USA? We can walk there in, say, 20 minutes with strollers/ prams, right? Right? Sigh.
Love the fabrics - I just saw the house print fabric (first picture) when I was at the store yesterday and almost bought it but didn't know what to use it for. That shouldn't have stopped me buying it, I know! Have a lovely time at the meet and enjoy spring :) We can't wait for winter to GO AWAY here!
Very very excited - I was excited anyway but now I see Miss Kitty might be able to come too I may well explode.
Sounds interesting...and within reach for me...I'll have to confirm closer to the time, but I've pencilled it in...
And if Penny is interested, I'll be bringing my 15 year old daughter :o)
Please don't explode Dottycookie - think of the mess. He He!
I will be bringing my teenage daughter who is 13 and will boss her aunt and mum around all day!
I hope Gina is good at thinking up ways to entertain teens as well
i have better things to do then boss you two round lol[=
mola <--- thats what you were talking on the phone about. you may of seen the one i made of textiles, the flower.
can't wait cya soon
em xoxox
Fab goodies there. Loving the new sock yarn (both of them) - you are progressing so much better on the Startitis Sock Club than I am.
Oh p**h. I want to come too. Boo hiss. I really had planned on attempting a bloggy meet up at Christmas, but it was just ridiculously busy trying to cram a million visits to family in 10 days. Have a wonderful time!
Lina xx
PS Great socks by the way. Knitting one pair was enough for this year for me!!!
This sounds like a wonderful idea. I wish I could come, but live in the wrong continent. :(
I'm in the same continent, even country, but won't be able to come along for family reasons. Pity. Btw, did you know that Abingdon in the UK's oldest continuallt-inhabited place?
I found your bloggy picnic idea at Kittys. I've spoken to Kitty and I'd love to come along with my 2 children if that's ok? Let me know, my e mail is on my profile page.
:)
