Why is it always the case
no matter how many beautiful fabrics you have in your stash
(and believe me, I have plenty!)
that other people's fabrics always look so much nicer?
Or is it the way they have chosen to combine them,
the very fact that each arrangement is unique,
that makes my own combinations and choices look so dull in comparison?
There are obviously things I've created that I love
and enjoy
no matter how often I look at them
but I still get a very bad case of that pesky old
I'm-a-green-eyed-monster-and-your-grass-looks-better-than-my-grass
ENVY
whenever I go blog hopping!
Apart from when I get gorgeous gifts like this
from a very kind friend
and then I don't feel any envy at all
just a pleasant smugness
(cos it's mine, all mine!!!)

Oooh, it's beautiful Mrs Pocket! Whatcha gonna do with it???
A lovely gift indeed!
You've heard WHY the grass is greener on the other side of the fence? It's because when the sheep graze, they look straight down and see the dirt among the straws, but when they look to the neighbour, they see the grass at an angle and it looks much greener. The neighbour's sheep does the same...which means that I'm a sheep , seriously envious of your beautiful fabrics (not only the ones you got, but also those you have used for the quilts and toys!)
You're not the only one - I get serious blog induced fabric envy (it's costing me a small fortune!) - and I have it now! That owly fabric is absolutely gorgeous!! (If you find out where you can buy it please do tell!)
:)
what a lovely gift - i know what you mean tho about blog envy, i think other people put colours together that i wouldn't think of and they look fantastic!!

Do you think if you saw a one of those items made up in those exact same fabrics by someone else you'd think it was beautiful?? Yes!! They are beautiful! And be smug... everyone deserves to be every once in a while!! ;)
Don't be silly! You do good! And your fabric choices (and gifts) are lovely!
I went "oooh" at each quilt picture.
That's all I'm sayin'!

I know what you mean - I get the green eyed monster syndrome quite regularly too! Great gifty too!
I am trying to be on a fabric diet myself. Those are lovely! What are you going to do with them???? x
I think we all get a little green eyed at times - other people's fabrics/wool/lives look so appealing!

Love your quilt, a lovely mix of fabrics.
If we didn't lust after more fabric we'd just have to spend the money on chocolate, so buying more fabric is good for your health!
Your grass is looking mighty fine from where I'm sitting!
yummy, I think we can all relate to that feeling... what you gonna make with your newies
I recognize the greediness!
Love love love the fabric with the birds and trees you received (she sais green with envy!)
Well call me biased, but I actually prefer all your delights to the links! (But I couldn't get the top link to work so I may not be giving a wholy informed opinion here!)
