So you can imagine how delighted they were to see me proved totally and utterly wrong this year!
And once everyone had safely arrived at my parents' house (especially Mr Locket who was the last to arrive on Christmas Eve in the midst of further heavy snow)
we were able to relax and enjoy the lovely white stuff because..................
Snow + excited children + lovely big cousins
= LOTS OF FUN
And if you asked the Little Lockets what the best part of Christmas was it would definitely be the toboganning (with presents coming a very close second!)
And with my brand new, perfectly designed for me, even if I did have to chop the top 3 inches off to make them fit my fat legs, button wellies
even I was persuaded to go toboganning!
Totally mad fun - but I drew the line at going down THIS slope

Love your wellies!!! Glad all the Lockets enjoyed a White Christmas :)
It does look magical. I love the snap of your parents back yard with the snow covered trees and the bird feeder. Love the button wellies. Taboganning looks like loads of fun.
Oh my goodness! What Fun! We are jealous here in Maine, where we usually have lots of snow and cold, but today unseasonably warm and raining. Was supposed to be snow. And no frozen stuff for skating.

Locket, I am so glad you didn't go down that slope ...did you notice that great big tree just waiting to jump out at you !...
I loved opening this post this mornig - there are the lockets playing in the sea and then there is snow ! Love it!
Yep - the snow made it extra magical this Christmas - we were all hoping and praying it wouldn't be gone on Christmas Morning and it was still there!!! Us Northies know how to do a White Christmas lol. Our snowman is still here as well - looks like you all had a fab time - great wellies :0) Shell x
Looks fantastic Lucy! I hope you all had a lovely Christmas x
Hahaha -- that's an awesome picture of you going down that hill! Looks like you had a fantastic time! Soooo happy for you guys to have some snow!
Glad you lot got snow too! So glad that none of you crashed into the tree, that would have put a dampner on the big day!
And although I have rather fetching black wellies with purple daisies on I am green with envy over your button wellies, you should let us know from where you found them and we can all have some! I have abandoned shoes of late and have spent the last couple of weeks wearing either my wellies or my slippers, it's starangely liberating!?

Fun fun fun! We were with the beloved big cousins too, but with much much less snow. Yours was amazing!
And I have exactly the same leg to wellie ratio problem. Hadn't thought of lopping them - that may have opened a whole new wardrobe of possibilities! Yours are tres fetching.
What a wonderful white Christmas! Here in Italy we had a white Christmas Eve, but on Christmas day the rain melted the snow away! Your wellies are fantastic, I love them ^_^
Hugs and happy new year!

What a lot of fun! Love your wellies too.
Looks like a lot of fun! We have snow here too, and -5 degreesC, which is really cold here on the coast! The kids are out playing all day.
Just a thimbleful....
The little Lockets will remember the White Christmas when they are old and grey - especially mother's mad wellies!
I need a pair of those wellies!!!!!
way to go Lucy , you had more nerve than me .... wasn't the snow great :-)
Fun in Locketland! Would I sound like an old Scrooge if I say I've grown tired of snow and cold? We have plenty of it here. I do love your boots, though!
Hurray for a white Christmas, the most magical perfect thing indeed! Love that toboganning beat presents, what a great attitude!

And I'm very glad I'm not the only onre to have the welly problem - though it never occurred to me to just cut the tops off. Where are my scissors?
Happy Happy wellies. All the best for the New Year.
Fantastic wellies Lucy. I love toboganning too but our heavy snow didn't last until Christmas, more apparently on the way just in time to go back to school - drat!

Fantastic pictures Lucy - I LOVE your wellies and it's fantastic to see you sledging - weeeeee!
oooh that looks like such fun although you're a lot braver (or madder) than me - I'd have watched rather than joining in! Glad all of you enjoyed your white christmas and hope you have a great 2010!
