Boo-DOUBLE-Hiss to the Postie

Still no parcels today - so tomorrow I will be hounding the local sorting office until they tell me where they are!

Happier news is that I had a fantastic day at Clare's house looking at all her crafty creations, fabrics, books, etc and being shown how to crochet "amigurumi style" - fortunately Clare was/is incredibly patient and I eventually worked out how to do it right after giving up part way through and sewing the binding on Lina's mini-quilt instead!

Hopefully by tomorrow morning I will have finished a little owly for Dorothy to take to school with her for her Year 6 SATs.

I really didn't want to leave Clare's house but hopefully we can do it again soon - we both agreed that we have so much more to talk about - but the crocheting was much easier on the metro train back home when I wasn't talking at all!

Clare gave me some goodies for the children
their very own ladybird mascots - which they loved! (I've never explained before why our club is called the Ladybirds - it's because Fred loves them so much!)

Clare also lent me a book on learning to knit for children and gave Fred and Daisy a pair of knitting needles each and Dorothy a selection of patterns for new projects.

Dorothy has started making a chick egg cosy and I have been valiantly trying to teach Daisy and Fred to knit (both at the same time = very, very tricky - need some nice red wine to recover!)

So I will leave you now and hopefully be back tomorrow with loads of parcel goodies to show you!

P.S. We had cakes at Clare's house too! You'll have to hope she puts a photo of them on her blog because I had already started eating mine before I thought to photograph them! Sorry!

Clare sounds like a lovely person. Crafting and cakes at Clare's = a good combination I think. The children look delighted with their ladybirds too!

Oh good luck Dorothy - and good luck Lucy too because I would be having kittens.

That does sound like the most wonderful day - and good on you for the crochet! Now, when you have overtaken me and are turning out ladybirds by the dozen (those are gorgeous, by the way) can I be very very jealous please?

I am harumphing at the Post Office too - won some new controllers for the PS2 on eBay a couple of weeks ago, but no sign of them despite the seller assuring me they've been sent. So frustrating.

Sounds like you and Claire had a lovely day - you can tell from her blog that she's a lovely one.

No.1 has SATS all week this week - it's not funny, is it? :-(

Phooey postman!!!!!

Glad you did as you were told and had a fab day today Missus :)

Clare sounds lovely. I'm far too warm and comfy down south to be at all envious of course......

I must say, however, I am starting to take issue with your lack of sharing in the cake department! Just 'cos we're not with you in person doesn't mean we wouldn't appreciate seeing exactly what you are eating.....while we eat a flacid ham and lettuce sandwich on our own....

Gorgeous Little Ladybird peeps there - I can't believe you tried teaching two of them to knit in tandem - you're awesome!!!!!

Ah look at their little faces, they look delighted, bless them. Very brave to teach them both at the same time, but I guess you had no escape what with the new tools to use (sorry) can't wait to see the finished products.

you'll have to wait until tomorrow for cake photo's coz I'm too pooped to post tonight, must be all the nattering we did :)

Good luck on finishing owly, I got mine done at the ice rink, all ready for No. 3 to take in for her SAT's tomorrow.

BOO to the postal service, HOORAY for cake and crochet at Clare's. I love the little ladybirds!

Oh and it's going to be very hard to part with the you-know-what...I'm growing quite attached to the little (ok, big) green chap and am sewing the final bits on now!

You think KS2 SATs are scary - just you wait - we're in the throes of GCSEs here - now that's really pants! What has that postie done with my parcel to you - I'm getting a little concerned now but it is odd that two different peoples things are stuck in the system - you never used to need to send things recorded delivery for goodness sake but that looks to be the way things are going! Maybe it's an underhand cunning plot on the part of the Post Office to make us increase their profits - me cynical? No!
