Lucy Locket's Mini-Quilt Wall - Part 1

I've had another lovely and self-indulgent day today. This morning I went to see a friend who has recently become a Phoenix Trader - something I once considered doing myself until I realised it was just because I wanted to own all the cards myself!

I knew I was going to be able to buy some lovely cards (and I did) but I also had a sneaky suspicion that there would be something yummy to eat as Jane is a very good cook and made me these muffins a while ago.

I wasn't disappointed - she had made a scrummy ginger cake for today - but once again I forgot to take a photo - sorry everyone!

When I got home,

to this very bare looking hall (with a very bare looking wall just crying out for a collection of mini-quilts from around the world)

I was very, very, VERY excited to discover a special delivery parcel through my door!

I ripped it open, saw who it was from, and then discovered I wasn't allowed to open this bit!

Can you believe it - part of the parcel was addressed to

so I knew I would have to wait for the scurvy bunch of Little Lockets to get home from school before I could see what was inside!

But wait! There was another parcel for me too.............................

And when I opened it I nearly exploded with happiness because look what was inside

A truly incredible mini-quilt from Katy! I love it so much it almost makes me cry with happiness. It is just a HAPPY picture with happy colours and it is MINE!!!!!!!!!

It came with a lovely tag

and a really nice label on the back - complete with a ginger monkey! (ok, so he's black but I know he's ginger inside!)

And FINALLY the children got home so we could see what was in their parcel

gazillions of crafty gorgeousness - designed to set any creative little heart a-flutter! The children were so excited as they "discovered" all their goodies and can't wait to start playing with it all!

Thank you so much Katy - we are a very, very lucky and happy collection of Lockets!

So I will leave you today with a photo of my Quilt Wall with its very first occupant!

See - there's loads more room left!

Have a great weekend everyone - and especially Katy for making me so happy today!

Lucy xxxx

I love that mini quilt!

She is just so cheerful and makes me smile

You never know, when I get the hang of quilting - I might be able to send you one - but I wouldn't hold your breath as I am a quilting virgin - and mine wouldn't be anything like as pretty as that one!

oh, she looks so lonely up there by herself - COME ON PEOPLE, get sewing (do they have real lives or something? Don't they just ignore their homes and children like I do, hehehe!)
I'm so pleased you like her, and the little lockets were pleased with their stash collection. I can't wait to see what they come up with.

Oh, and APRIL - that was my first ever quilting attempt, and after being scared stiff of it I am pretty pleased with how it turned out! (and I have become addicted, it seems *blush*)

crumbs! Seriously the pressure is beginning to mount to unbelieveable levels up here on the hill.

hat wall is going to look magical once they are all up!

I thought you were aiming for a quilt wall...not a hat wall (Trash!) ...does that mean I have to go back to the drawing board and design a b***dy hat then? Or am I, in fact, being very facetious about Trashy's obv. typo.????

Oh dear.

Your wall is going to look fab Missus, if Katy's beautiful quilt is anything to go by....oh, how I scoffed at you making 22 quilts Locket....I scoff no longer as it will be worth the work when your wall is full of quilty loveliness from across the globe.

Of I go to peruse my bare wall in my hallway.....not hinting or anything but it's very very bare....

Oh that is seriously cute - I am green with jealousy about that wall. I wonder how long before one of the kids move out- they have spare walls !!! It is going to look so so so good. I just have binding to go so hopefully mine will be in the post to you real soon.

fab parcel - lucky you...trust GM to do something wonderful, and then more!

I somehow missed teh great quilt appeal...I'll happily make one for you too to say thanks for organising all these great swaps...if you fancied one of course...though not being quite so fast or profic as our Katy you could be waiting quite some time...and I can fairly guarantee it won't be so cute

It's a lovely little mini quilt (I was just on Gina's blog and saw she had one too - I'm getting envious) - and although I haven't planned what I'm going to make for you yet, I can tell you, it will be totally different than that one (and I bet a lot of your other swappers will say the same) so I think you are going to have a very exciting wall o' quilts before you are done.
