"Should I really love my notebook this much Doctor?"

When Mr Locket and I had our little trip out to Borders on Saturday I found this lovely book on knitting and crochet - lots of history and interesting facts, basic "how-to's" and some fun projects - and all for the bargain price of £3.99 - don't you just love cheap crafty books?!!!

But what really set my heart a-flutter (and actually cost more) was my wonderful new

note-project-design-idea-list-planning-pretty-much-everything-book

I really, really, really love it (which is rather worrying!)

I mean, I've had/have lots of notebooks (many in use at the same time) but this has to be the Rolls Royce of notebooks, it really does!

Not only does it have lined pages for all my lists (I really like lists, you know)

but it also has plain pages for sketches (not going to show you those because I really can't draw)

squared paper for planning mini-quilts (can't show you because they are secret)

and lots and lots of pockets!!!!

Plain paper ones for popping leaflets in,

Clear plastic ones for designs or lists (again)

Little ones for business cards (or Moo's)
and big zippy ones for pens and pencils or more lists!

I LOVE IT - did I mention that before?

It is meant to be a "travel journal" but I just stuck a couple of my Moo stickers over the offending words and hey-presto it's my design book.

Should I be seeking therapy for this?????

In other "Lucy's lost the plot" news, I may have become slightly obsessed with making mini-quilts over the last couple of days (which is probably a very good job as I do have 20 to make)

I have started 5 already so here is a little sneaky peek

And I will leave you with this photo of the back-seat-drivers I had to put up with the other day!

Yes you should definately seek help, I am sure there are a fair few other bloggers (mention no names) who need help too, with obsessions and the like. But I am sure you are harmless with it too. Have fun with your lovely new book. x

There must be something in the air Lucy - I too have bought a new journal - from the same place! It has lovely smooth brown paper pages. I also bought a reduced 2008 diary covered in the most devine fabric. I love new drawing pencils and painting sets too. Its whatever makes you feel happy, enjoy yours,

I have not a single word of criticism for your obsession, since I might have just started writing a blog post about mine *blush*

I am quite partial to notebooks myself - in fact stationery shops in general keep me happy almost as much as fabric shops.

PS: What neat writing you have!

Ooohhh lots of gorgeousness posted today.

I love notebooks too. My current one is almost finished which is good as its falling apart. I live by lists, forget everything otherwise. I have plans for pockets in mine too. Notebooks and pockets can only be a good thing.

I totally understand the love you have for your book, I have a little notebook that I bought from WH Smith with a startling turquoise, cerise and silver japanese style flower cover, it is a thing of beauty! I have a theory that girls NEVER EVER grow out of loving stationery. I was v.excited about my Hello Kitty pencil case complete with pencil ruler and pencil sharpener that I received for Mothers Day - it's fab.

As for the backseat drivers !!! Well I sympathise, mine often consist of Power Rangers or Horses.

I use my note book all the time but yours is better as it has the pockets and pouches , my clippings and leaflets are always falling out as they are just stuffed in the back of my journal. Why would we need help for something we enjoy!?!
.....but your current quilt addiction...hmmm!!x

Fabulous notebook, I completely understand your feelings for it! I bought a teach yourself crochet book a while ago but I'm too much of a scaredy cat to try it!

I am tempted to say find someone with a couch but I would have to join you, so lets pretend it's totally normal to love an inanimate object quite so much. I would love it to.

Your many many quilt swap partners are very lucky, those sneak peeks look fabtastic. Lovely colours :)
And don't worry, I ofter suffer extreme notebook lust in Paperchase. It's perfectly normal to love paper that much, in fact I am currently in love with a moleskine 1 page-per-day diary with built-in address book...mmm...
I wish you and your new love all the best for the future. May you be very happy together!

Your new design book looks fab. I always keep a notebook for ideas. I like the fact that yours has pockets.
I bought that knitting and crochet book only last week. I thought it was a nice thick book for the price. There are some fun projects in it and it's written in a very user-friendly way.

I often fall in love with inanimate objects, usually books. (Though am developing a passion for buttons and ribbons at the minute).

I too love notebooks, but am a crubbish list maker so have loads that are empty. They're just so pretty though, aren't they?

I'm thinking that I ought to come on a trip with you next time, as I'm an EXCELLENT back seat driver ... just ask RGH!

And I can't believe you've done so much quilting already .... come on, admit it .... who did you speak to to get more hours in your day??

:)
