Feeling uninspired? Then go shopping of course!

After yesterday's "I'm feeling sorry for myself" post I have a much more upbeat one for today!

Because today I went shopping.

And not just any old shopping......................

My favourite kind of shopping....................

FABRIC SHOPPING!!!!!!
here

And the really good thing about it is that I could justify going because I did actually need some supplies for a couple of commissions!

See............................

I needed some basic doll making fabric - white on white cotton, bleached calico, tea-dyed calico and osnaburg.

What I didn't actually NEED were these

or these little pieces (only 50p each and 1 free if you bought 5 - which I did as the three Little Lockets got one each too)

Or this really scrummy Tilda "felt"

And I really didn't need to pay a £5 deposit for this book that will arrive some time in August - but I just have to have it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But I was very pleased to receive these FREE fat quarters

(just don't tell Mr Locket that they were only free because I spent so much!)

And those gorgeous spotty fabrics are just asking to be made into wallets with my lovely goldfish fabric.......................
And if we don't have any money left for food for the rest of the month (ok, so it's only the 1st today so that's not good...........) then I'll just have to feed the children on these

Lesley's Chocolate Banana Muffins - yummy!!!

Hope you have all had a good day too!

P.S. Went back to Weight Watchers today after missing last week with Dorothy being off poorly - and I had really struggled with the diet too - and I was very pleased to have only put half a pound back on! A huge relief!

how often do you think we buy fabric that we don't need but just like? Still I'm sure there are worse habits.

Re the food for the kids - my advice is 'think like a student' its amazing how little you can spend on potatoes, pasta and tinned tomatoes!

Lovely fabrics Locket and perfectly reasonable to eat gruel for the rest of the month!!

The wallet fabrics look lovely together. Now get cracking and fill the shelves in that shop of yours :)

Great news on the WW front - you are doing really well!

Oh yeah. Shopping will cure all ills, it's a well known fact. (In fact I think there may even be an article in The Lancet about it).

Some lovely stash boosters there, Lucy, and FREE STUFF too - fab!!

There is nothing like a little fabric shopping to brighten ones day and then of course that shop is wonderful. The next time my Mum visits I am going to take her over there, she has retired now so will have plenty of time to craft.

Hope you are feeling better today.

Now I have a dribbly keyboard (or 'dibbly' as I typed before I spotted the typo and edited). Fabric .. mmmmmmmm. If it were edible, I'd eat it. Can't wait to see your 'doings' with it.

Keep up the good work on the WW front (and sides and back). You're doing so well. x

Hi, I just found your blog today (via Eileen's Attic) and I totally understand your buying the dotty fabrics! You might need them, and they are so gooood to have. I'm trying to keep a fabric diet, to use more than I buy, but it is very very difficult.
