Wonky creations

Just a quick post to show you some of my very wonky creations.

First up is Tweet from Melly and Me's Hooty and Tweet pattern.
These are bright fabrics I got in a fabric swap in my early days of blogging and they go really well with Melly and Me's style. One of his legs is in totally the wrong place but it makes it a bit shorter than the other which Rosie and Melly suggest in the pattern - I just did it by accident!!!

Next is Gabriella (named after High School Musical!)
She was inspired by Lesley's Rosy doll but is definitely a prototype and not very good at all! She would have gone in the bin at the "turn-through" stage but Daisy spotted her and insisted I finished her off - The dress is definitely a 5 minute job! But Daisy loves her and at least now I know how not to make the next one

These are the books I got for Christmas - I know I said I would show them in the previous post but I just forgot, sorry.
I ordered this new Janet Bolton book from Quiltmania in France and it is actually bi-lingual but I like it because of that - it means I can pretend to still be able to read French (after studying it at A'level)
This book is by Lynette Anderson - Hers were the very first stitcheries I ever tried when I was pregnant with Fred and my first proper quilt was one of her designs too. She has a blog too and I love seeing her new work.

Finally I thought I would show you this badge that Katie gave one of my children back in June (I helped choose it!). It is particularly good for us as the Locket Family are renowned for never wearing matching socks. When we visited a friend yesterday it became apparent that Fred and I were probably wearing two matching pairs between us (despite the considerable age and size difference!). I think that is why I tend to have bare feet and the girls favour tights - so much easier to get right don't you think?

Lucy
you have been a busy petal..

I know what you mean about 'odd socks'.. grrrr @ kids.. I even bought a $h!tload of lingirie bags for them to put them in when they take them off.. apparently i should of put lingirie bags in the lounge, under the lounge, at the back door and a whole host of other places we find missing dirty socks.. the kids blame the cat, but I am sure the cat is smart enough not to walk around with smelly boy socks in his mouth!

Lissa
but then again, cat is male???

How funny you are Lucy! Love the sock story -- if only I'd known, I would have sent you socks LOL! Thanks for the Lynette Anderson link -- I've probably been under a rock, but it's a new to me site and it looks like fun -- I need to spend some time over there!

I am so jealous that you have that Janet Bolton book. It isn't availble in the states yet and the cost of shipping from France makes it a bit over the limit. Enjoy!

Hi Lucy, I found the knitting pattern for mittens on Knitting Pattern Central - free patterns - gloves, mittens, choose Basic Men's Mitten pattern. I am now using Aran wool with 3mm DPNs instead of 4mm and it is coming out a much better size for me - i have a med/lge hand size 7 1/2 hope this helps Jane x

Ooh i'm very envious of your janet bolton book ! I bought the children new socks today, as we seemed to loose all ours over Christmas .... strange but true. A bargin with Gwenny's for a ,£1.00 a per instead of £4.00, and best of all they are 43% angora, just like gwenny's angor bunny !

I think Tweet and Gabriella are lovely - and if you hadn't pointed out her unfinished dress I would never have noticed!

Nothing wrong with Wonky! I love your cheerful creations. The books look great. I have a December stash I have to work through. Never enough books! Lynette is such a sweet lady and a great designer!
Tres bien, mon amie, vous parlez le Français! J’aime la langue, le fromage, le vin et le pays!
A bientôt!

ooh, I got a janet Bolton Book for christmas too and mine is completely in French, It is called 'Tableaux en Patchwork', but I must admit it challenges my sketchy GCSE French a little. Its all about the pictures though, isnt it!
