I'm really not a Knitter

Honestly, I'm not.

So can someone please explain this.....................................

which involved a last minute dash to the not-very-local-but-very-very-lovely wool shop over at Ring-a-Rosie before they closed at 5pm. And also involved the kidnapping of a certain Bloggy-friend.

And I didn't buy it because I wanted to - it was because I needed to - I really think I have a problem.

And yesterday I had to buy this

because of the little Easter Bunny in the bottom corner

And look how many Easter Eggs I have knitted from it already

(notice also the fact that the bunny is nowhere to be seen - I think we can safely say I bought the magazine for the mini basket of eggs!)

And I have also knitted this one from Julie's pattern

but I couldn't get the right sized polystyrene egg so it doesn't have a perfect shape.

And then I had to buy this pattern so I could make this for my friend's birthday

(especially as I had bought her a cake stand and some gorgeous cup-cake style ramekin/bowl-y things)

So I simply had to buy more cup-cakey-type colours to knit some for myself didn't I?

and then some gorgeous "iced" button flowers to go on top?

And because we all know that I have finish-itis I decided that the only way for me to knit a second sock was if I did it in a different colour

My excuse (and I'm sticking to it) is that by the time I have knitted a blue sock, the patterning of the first sock wool will be interesting again so I'll enjoy doing that and then when I have finished the second of the first pair of socks I can do the second blue sock - geddit???? And in the meantime I can maintain Locket family tradition by wearing totally odd socks!

And while I was in the wool shop I purchased the solution to my "lack of needles" problem

So I can start new projects to my heart's content!

And what is to blame for this current knitting insanity?

My new book - which is now being read for the second time in a week

Hope you all have a very Happy and Wooly Easter!

P.S. Look at these gorgeous clips that I bought from this incredibly talented person's etsy shop (not that I'm biased, not at all........................!)

All wrapped in beautiful gingham!

I love your woolly Easter eggs! I know what you mean about 'having' to have things. I have just bought a huge pile of 5x5 fabric swatches and I don't even sew much! I just had to own those pretty little patterns. Looks like you are having a productive Easter. I look forward to seeing what you make with all that wool!

Oooooo I love the colours of the wool you bought, muted colours like that are my faves. And I have some beads like those flower buttons too, am thinking great minds and all that!!

I have bought lots of material recently to make bags with, and how many have I made? Just the one for Mother's Day. There is no hope but at least I feel a bit more normal!!

You’re definitely not a knitter, you’re just in need of woollie stuf!
You made some gorgeous eggs and the cupcake looks yummy - though I rather eat a real one.. It’s such a pity I don’t understand English knitting patterns...
Happy Easter Lucy!

I understand, it all makes perfect logical senses. And I love the little basket of eggs , who needs a rabbit? It all about the accessories.

Oh wow - much loveliness going on in the way of yarnage there. I must admit I went into town this afternoon, and some very cheap acrylic stuff whispered "monkey's hats" to me as I wandered past! Fancy that?! I had to buy some, of course.

Take care. x

I'm so envious - I want little knitted Easter eggs! Oh well, maybe I will make some for next year - it's a bit late now, especially when you can't knit!

Noooooooo - course you're not a knitter!
Who could ever accuse you of being a knitter what with all the wool you have and all the knitting you've got on the go?!!!

Great eggs - if you were a knitter you'd have done a dozen by now ;)

Happy Easter you nutty non knitter :)

Lovely yarns. I've never done socks, but I'm absolutely certain there is nothing wrong with wearing odd ones. I know this because what you describe would be what would happen to me if I attempted them. LOL

Well, personally, I think you need to issue a retraction of this post's title because you most certainly ARE a knitter! Your eggs look great. And you've discovered an excellent solution to second sock syndrome. I rest my case. Have a wonderful Easter with the little Lockets, Sweet Lucy!

Ooooh LOADS of wooly goodness going on over here!

You're gonna have to face it you're addicted to knit .... hmmm, for some strange reason that Robert Palmer ditty sounded better in my head ....

Denial.

My sister who is also not really a knitter (yeah right) went mad in the wool shop we were in a few weeks ago - touching every ball of wool and ooh-ing and aah-ing at everything.

It won't be long before you start unraveling jumpers for the wool you know.

Okay so, quote 'its just the colours', you said.
Me thinks not. You're gonna be addicted. It slips in quietly while you're not taking notice and WHAM before you know it, the cupboards are full and you can't sleep for thinking about all the possibilities.....and the colours. Don't say I didn't warn you. Hope you really are pleased that I have lots of yummy wool now - happy knitting, love, Barbara. xx
P.S. Love the Easter display and the cupcake!

I'm not a knitter either but I am always drawn to knitting books or magazines. I think I would quite like to be a fabulous knitter without putting in the time and effort to learn, and I am pretty sure if I buy enough knitting books I shall magically be able to knit... eventually.

I think my youngest son, henry must be a Lockett. He is 3 and never wears matching socks!
