A drinking problem

It's been a busy week so far - I've been trying to make more stock for the craft fairs and finish off some orders at the same time as my order list keeps growing (yay!)

This is the finished elephant cushion that my friend comissioned for her sister. She told me the quote to put on and then came round and chose the fabrics and asked for it to have elephants on as her sister loves them. I took it round on Tuesday and she absolutely loved it!

I've been working on the two fleece blanket orders so that I can hopefully take them to display on Saturday at the first craft fair before I give them to my friend who has ordered them for two little baby boys she knows. One has zoo animals (see previous post) and the other has teddies - I'll show you a photo when it is finished. They will both have personalised panels on the back too.

I've also been making a new style of bag incorporating the pencil strip into a messenger style bag and I'm quite pleased with how it has turned out. I am making them with adjustable straps using buttons so they can be a variety of lengths. I have comissions for quite a few with names on the front flap so they will be fun to do. The pencil strip is just underneath the flap.

I won two give-aways recently and my prizes arrived this week! The first is this gorgeous work-book from Janet of Wildcraft Farm along with a piece of fabric from her stash for my first postcard. Thank you Janet - the book is brilliant!

My other prize arrived this morning from Gina - a beautiful little dottee doll with some other lovely goodies included! My neighbour came round to admire my prize so we shared the chocolate (yummy) and I really love the ladybug fabric! Thanks so much Gina.

Yesterday we all went to Alison's house for a Halloween party. Unfortunately someone came trick or treating just before we left - but we had NO sweets! I had already taken up a bagfull to Alison's house and there was nothing we could give this poor little child - and I don't believe in giving out money! I felt really guilty (so I made Jonathan answer the door while I hid inside!)

Here are my little darlings
Unfortunately I discovered that I had a bit of a problem at the party................

A drinking problem!

I had the drink...................

but no mouth to drink with! Disaster!

At least now you can all see that I don't look like a pumpkin at all! I'm really rather beautiful if I do say so myself!

( I had to edit this post and make the pictures smaller as it all looked too black and dismal! And I was worried about scaring the more sensitive and fragile among you - aka my sister!)

Love the messenger bags!

I've been chopping up old baby clothes, inspired by your quilt from a couple of weeks back. It will be ages before I do anything with them, but hopefully something good will come of them ...

I had no idea you were so boney!
Hope you make progress with your sewing, the days just seem to fly by don't they.

You're gorgeous - I had no idea!

I love your elephant cushion, it is so beautifully made - I know 'cos I zoomed right on in there!
Lovely lovely things you're making. Hope you feel better soon BTW, you looked a little pale in the last photo ;o)

I too zoomed in on the cushion, and it's just gorgeous! I think elephants are your thing, baby!

Love the matching outfits that you and Fred were sporting!

And I'm hoping that someone helped you out by making a tiny incision in your mask for a straw in order that you could partake of a few alcoholic beverages??

Lucy, you've changed! I don't know -- I might like the pumpkin look a little better. You better put that drink down and get back to work -- you're going to be busy for a long time! Good luck at the upcoming fair.

I do hope you found a way to drink. I think some wine would put some roses in your cheeks. You are looking a little pasty in the picture. Perhaps you're working too hard? Then again - nope. Get back to work and continue making those beautiful things.

You look boo-tiful my dear. I should wear a mask like that to help me get thin.

I love the cushion - now I have to change you in my memory banks from a pumpkin to a skeleton.
